The short version

QazaqKEY does not run any servers and never collects, receives, or stores what you type. Language detection happens entirely on your device. AI features (Fix, Translate, Rewrite, and suggestions) send only the relevant text directly to Google's Gemini API using your own API key, which is stored only on your device. No tracking, no ads, no accounts.

This Privacy Policy explains how the QazaqKEY keyboard app ("QazaqKEY", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. QazaqKEY is published by SBT Studio. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

QazaqKEY is a custom Kazakh-language keyboard for iOS that adds AI-powered writing tools. It is developed and published by SBT Studio. You can reach us at sbtproduct2026@gmail.com.

2. We do not operate a server

QazaqKEY has no backend of its own. We do not host servers that receive your keystrokes, messages, or any other content. We have no database of users and no way to read what you type. There is no QazaqKEY account to create and no login.

3. What happens on your device

Typing. When you type with QazaqKEY, your input is delivered to the app you're typing in (Messages, Mail, a browser, etc.) by iOS, exactly like any other keyboard. We do not log or retain your keystrokes.
Language detection. To tailor AI actions, the app detects whether you're typing Kazakh, Russian, English, or another language. This detection runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Natural Language framework. No text leaves your device for language detection.
Your API key. AI features require a Google Gemini API key that you provide. It is stored only on your device (in an app-group container shared between the app and its keyboard). We never transmit, receive, or have access to your API key.

4. AI features and Google Gemini

QazaqKEY's AI tools — Fix (grammar/spelling), Translate to Kazakh, Rewrite, and inline suggestions — are powered by Google's Gemini API. These features are optional and only run when you trigger them.

What is sent, and when

When you tap Fix, Translate, or Rewrite, the text you selected — or the recent text immediately before your cursor — is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the result.
When inline suggestions are active (only if you have entered an API key), a short portion of your most recent text (up to roughly the last 200 characters) is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate predictions.
Requests are made directly from your device to Google using your own API key. They do not pass through any QazaqKEY server.
Network requests use an ephemeral session, so request and response data is not written to a persistent on-device cache by the app.

Because this text is sent to Google, its handling is governed by Google's terms and privacy practices for the Gemini API. Please review:

We encourage you to avoid sending sensitive personal information (passwords, financial details, etc.) through any AI feature.

5. Full Access

iOS asks custom keyboards to request "Allow Full Access" in order to use the network. QazaqKEY requests Full Access for a single reason: to send your text to Google's Gemini API for the AI features described above. Without Full Access, the AI features will not work, but the standard Kazakh keyboard still functions. Granting Full Access does not give SBT Studio access to your data — we still receive nothing.

6. Information we collect

None. SBT Studio does not collect, sell, rent, or share any personal information through QazaqKEY. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs that profile you. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized App Store statistics (such as download counts), which do not identify you.

7. Data retention & your choices

We retain no data about you because we never receive any.
Your API key remains on your device until you remove it in the app or delete the app.
You can revoke AI access at any time by turning off Full Access in iOS Settings, or by deleting your Gemini API key from the app.
Deleting QazaqKEY removes the app and its locally stored settings, including your API key, from your device.
You may delete or rotate your Gemini API key directly in your Google AI account at any time.

8. Children's privacy

QazaqKEY is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. Since we collect no personal information at all, the app does not gather data from users of any age.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU GDPR or California's CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you. Because SBT Studio holds no personal information about QazaqKEY users, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase on our side. For data processed by Google through the Gemini API, please exercise your rights with Google directly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL. Significant changes will be reflected in the app's App Store listing.
